In a recent interview with radio show “To The Best Of Our Knowledge” , Nic Pizzolatto the creator of the hit HBO series True Detective continued with details about his plans for season 2.

He had previously stated ““hard women, bad men and the secret occult history of the United States transportation system” were on the horizon for season 2.  “In True Detective, the world itself is the crime,” Pizzolatto explained. “The world itself is poison; there’s something ruinous at work here. The poison at the root of the world is humanity.”

Nic also went on to talk about locations and how many leads we’ll be seeing in season 2:  “Right now, we’re working with three leads. It takes place in California — not Los Angeles, but some of the much lesser known venues of California — and we’re going to try to capture a certain psychosphere ambiance of the place, much like we did in season one,” he said. “The characters are all new, but I’m deeply in love with each of them.  We’ve got the entire series broken out with a couple of scripts, and we’ll probably start casting in earnest in the coming months.”

We’ll know more about casting of those three leads within the next two weeks.
