“Watchmen”: Zack Snyder & HBO UPDATED

This comes to us FIRMLY SET IN RUMOR TERRITORY, ok guys?  So don’t get your Dr. Manhattan panties in a bunch yet.

UPDATE: Deadline is now reporting another story from Collider that HBO has confirmed a meeting took place, and there are plans in the works:

“Preliminary discussions regarding Watchmen have occurred, but we have no additional information and no deals are in place,” the network said in a statement following a report by Collider about the meeting with Snyder.

Collider decided to ‘report’ (as in there is no source or real news) on a possible meeting that took place between Zack Snyder (Man Of Steel, Watchmen) and studio heads at HBO for the development of a tv series based on the Alan Moore graphic novel, “The Watchmen”.  If you remember, Snyder was the man behind the 2009 film The Watchmen, which followed the characters and stories from Moore’s work.  The rumor includes mentions of “Before Watchmen”, which is a prequel of sorts, following the early days of the characters.

There is no evidence these meetings have happened, but if they did, this could be a really exciting project.  We’ll let you know as soon as REAL information becomes available.
