Warner Bros. Moves “The Matrix 4,” “Godzilla vs. Kong” and More

Of course; it’s after 5pm on a Friday, so that means some studio decides to pull the pin, roll it in to the office, and walk away for the weekend. Warner Bros. Pictures is shifting their entire slate for the coming year (minus “Dune,” which we’re still expected to get pushed back), including “The Matrix 4,” and “Godzilla Vs. Kong.”

Maybe you saw our breaking news that “Wonder Woman 1984” had been shunted back to October 2nd, hot on the heels of Christopher Nolan‘s “Tenet” being sent to the end of July. But now Warner Bros. is making the move complete, with their expected blockbusters also getting new release dates.

“The Matrix 4” is moving from May 21st, 2021 to April 1st, 2022. This is probably due to the shooting schedule was pretty frakked with the worldwide shutdowns.

“Godzilla Vs. Kong” is moving from November 2020 to May 21st, 2021. Director Adam Wingard offered this statement about change.

“Saw” reboot “Spiral,” starring Chris Rock and Samuel L. Jackson, currently has no known release date. (It was originally on May 21st, 20201.)

Robert Zemeckis‘ adaptation of “The Witches” also has no current release date. (It was originally coming out October 9th 2020.)

We will do our best to keep you appraised of these new dates as they get announced.

[We are still expecting “Dune” to get pushed into 2021 as well.]
