Vin Diesel, David Twohy Reunite for “Riddick: Furya”

A fourth “Chronicles of Riddick” film is actually happening! Long rumored by series star and mega-fan Vin Diesel, the news of “Riddick: Furya” was confirmed today following the official trailer drop for the 10th installment in the “Fast & Furious” franchise, “Fast X.”

David Twohy, who first launched the “Riddick” films with Diesel, is returning. Twohy will write and direct. “Our legion fans have demanded it for years, and now we’re finally ready to honor their call-to-action with Riddick: Furya,” Twhoy said. “My collaboration with Vin and One Race has spanned 20 fruitful years, as together we’ve created three movies, two video games, an anime production, and motion comics for the internet. This new big-screen event will see a return to Riddick’s homeworld, where we finally get to explore Riddick’s genesis.”

An early logline indicates Riddick will be returning to his homeworld, Furya. While there, Riddick will encounter Furyians, fighting for their planet against the Necromongers.

And yes, Diesel will star. We’ll let you know what we hear about a possible release date and additional casting.
