“The Plague Nerdalogues” Are EXACTLY What We Need Right Now

The term ‘nerd royalty’ gets thrown around a lot these days, but the upcoming “The Plague Nerdalogues” really does boast a cast that fits this description.

The Nerdalogues is a video series featuring compilations of actors reenacting familiar and famous scenes from film and television with a geek bent, all for charity. In this case, No Kid Hungry.

The examples that Variety (which broke the news) gives are “Star Trek” legend Jonathan Frakes playing Captain Kirk, “Battlestar Galactica” Caprica Six herself Tricia Helfer doing David Carradine’s Bill from “Kill Bill,” and comedy great Phil Lamaar as Samurai Jack doing Inigo Montoya from “The Princess Bride.”

But then we noticed that our friend Aaron Douglas, also from “Battlestar Galactica” (he was Chief Galen Tyrol), is taking part too.

I did the Narrator from The Road Warrior, but mine isn’t like the others.
    My idea was:

If 8 year old me had an iPhone
    &
48 year old me had a Microphone
    &
    Together they made a thing

I hope you think it’s fun.
It was being a kid again/making it.

Marc Bernardin, writer for shows such as “Alphas,” “Castle Rock,” Treadstone” and co-host of Kevin Smith‘s podcast “Fatman Beyond,” created this series.

“I’ve been sitting here, day after day, both watching the world slip and watching people do their best to stop it from slipping. I’ve done a lot of the former and thought it was high time I tried doing the latter,” he told Variety.

“When the ‘stay at home’ orders are lifted and we can all get back to doing the work we love, then this will have served its purpose and these videos will be made public. Until then, I hope our collective love for both the geek world and the real world can do a little good.”

We’re also getting Cameron Cuffe (“Krypton“), David Dastmalchian (“Ant-Man,” “Dune”), Azita Ghanizada (“Alphas”),  Todd Stashwick (SYFY’s “12 Monkeys“), Rob Benedict (“Supernatural“), Yuri Lowenthal (Spider-Man in Sony’s 2018 “Spider-Man” video game), Rekha Sharma (also-also “Battlestar Galactica” and “Star Trek: Discovery“), Tiffany Smith (Netflix’s upcoming “Masters of the Universe: Revelation“), and Damion Poitier (“Star Trek 09”) on cast as well!

Variety goes on to say that “Nerdalogues” will be uploaded to theplaguenerdalogues.com and available for a minimum $10 donation to No Kid Hungry. Once a donation has been made, viewers will receive a password that unlocks unlimited access to the platform as more video submissions continue to be posted.

A worthy cause, with some absolutely wonderful talent involved.
