Things are heating up on the casting front for the upcoming Disney+ live action series from Jon Favreau, The Mandalorian.

'The Mandalorian' Adds Werner Herzog, Giancarlo Esposito to Cast

There have of course been numerous casting rumors all throughout the process, but for the most part, our friends over at MakingStarWars.com have been pretty damn correct with their reports.

Today, Star Wars.com confirmed that filmmaker Werner Herzog is officially joining the cast, as well as Giancarlo Esposito, Carl Weathers, Emily Swallow (Supernatural), and Omid Abtahi (American Gods).

This set of actors joins the already announced cast of Pedro Pascal in the lead role of The Mandalorian– the lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy. He’s joined by Gina Carano, and Nick Nolte.

Executive Producer and showrunner Favreau said:

“We’re having a great time working with this incredibly talented group and excited for everyone to see what we’re up to.”

    We can’t wait either, Jon.
