Browsing: x-men

So far, the only movie in the X-Men lexicon I liked was X-Men: First Class.  This is mostly because I feel several of the main casting points in the previous films were WAY off the mark. A pretty Wolverine?  Scott Summers being SOOOO much younger than Jean Grey?  I mean really, I can talk about this […]

It looks like we know who will be taking on the X-Men team in Bryan Singer’s 2016 X-men: Apocalypse; it’s Oscar Isaac. This casting has been confirmed by Variety.  Series director Singer also suggested that the storyline of the film set in the 1980s, could very well have new actors portraying younger versions of the main team […]

In a move surprising no one who watched and enjoyed X-Men: Days of Future Past, it was officially announced this week that Evan Peters will be reprising his Quicksilver role in the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse. In this interview between Newsarama and second unit director Brian Smrz, we get our confirmation: Nrama: According to what I’ve read, you just finished […]

After the almost orgasmic beauty of Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer hitting today, we cannot forget about the crazy awesome that’ll be Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Apocalypse (even though yes, it’s Fox-owned). We don’t know much about how Singer and Kinsberg will be changing the storyline around, don’t get me started on X-Men: Days Of Future Past as I […]

It looks like Fox is jumping on the momentum of X-Men: Days of Future Past being released next month. Along with official confirmation of Bryan Singer returning to direct X-Men: Apocalypse and a comment from writer Simon Kinberg, two new websites have appeared that have connections to both Fox and the X-Men franchise. The first is Tandem Initiative.  If […]

It seems like every single site reporting that Bryan Singer will be returning to direct the next installment of the X-Men franchise is leaving out something significant. This quote from writer Simon Kinberg from an interview with Yahoo: If we included some of the original X-Men, like Storm and Jean and Scott and others, in Apocalypse, […]

Earlier today our EIC (Editor-In-Chief) posted her review of the first year of the newest destination convention HawaiiCon.  She even mentioned some of the fantastic guests, one of which being epic-level-cosplayer Bellechere. New England based Bellechere has been costuming for 12+ years, and continues to be one of the nicest ladies in fandom.  You can […]

Here is some concept art from the early development stages of X-Men: Days Of Future Past of what the characters costumes would look like during both the 70’s and the dark Sentinel-filled future.  The Costume Illustrator Phillip Boutte Jr. has also worked on  Man of Steel, Inception, Star Trek, Priest and Captain America: The First Avenger.

So far, in the cinema life X-Men has known, I have enjoyed one, ONE  film, and that was X-Men: First Class. I am not a fan of Bryan Singer’s casting choices for the most part with four big points;  1.) Cyclops being FAR TOO YOUNG compared to Jean and not the right actor in this regard, 2.) […]
