We are unsurprised by this turn of events, but it would appear that Paramount Pictures is taking the redesign of the main character in their Sonic the Hedgehog live-action film to heart, and pushing back the theatrical release date of the film in order to complete it.

Sonic director Jeff Fowler posted the following tweet:

Taking a little more time to make Sonic just right.#novfxartistswereharmedinthemakingofthismovie pic.twitter.com/gxhu9lhU76

    — Jeff Fowler (@fowltown) May 24, 2019

This comes after a pretty vocal backlash by fans on social media following the first trailer release for the film. Fowler responded pretty quickly, saying that they were listening, and would put changes into play immediately.

We’ll let you know what else we hear about this developing story.
