41 years after the fact, we’re getting a sequel to probably the greatest music film ever made, Rob Reiner‘s “This is Spinal Tap.” A mockumentary centering on Britain’s loudest band Spinal Tap, the original film starred Harry Shearer, Michael McKean, and Christopher Guest as Derek Smalls (bass), Nigel Tufnel (guitar), and David St. Hubbins (vocals).
This is probably the film we’ve been most looking forward to in 2025, with the return of the main cast, and Reiner in the director’s chair. (As well as playing mockumentarian Marty DeBergi.)
A new music video for Spinal Tap’s biggest hit song “Stonehenge” was released this morning, featuring one of the guest stars coming to “Spinal Tap II: The End Continues,” the one and only Sir Elton John! Check that out below. This is a tease of a new album from the band, which will release later this year to coincide with the film’s release.
“Spinal Tap II: The End Continues” hits theaters September 12th.
