We are somewhat hesitant to say we’re excited to share this news, but, NBC just greenlit a “Quantum Leap” sequel. Well, at least a pilot. The thing that we’re semi-excited about is the ongoing rumor that Scott Bakula, star of the original series, may be involved! He teased a possible…something…last year, so this could be good news for fans.
“It’s been 30 years since Dr. Sam Beckett (Scott Bakula) stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator and vanished. Now a new team has been assembled to restart the project in the hopes of understanding the mysteries behind the machine and the man who created it.”
The Hollywood Reporter has the logline for the new series as well:
“In any given year, more than 600,000 people are reported missing in the U.S. More than half that number are people of color that the country seems to forget about. A public relations specialist — who was once herself one of those forgotten ones — and her crisis management team now make sure there is always someone looking out for the forgotten missing people. But unbeknownst to anyone, this everyday hero is hiding a chilling secret of her own.”
Of course, the series won’t be complete, as we lost Dean Stockwell in 2021.
This story is developing, and we’ll let you know what else we hear about this project.
