‘Into the Spider-Verse’: See Miles Morales Deal with…Puberty?!?

Chances are, every single superhero across the various comic universes have had to deal with the same biological challenge- puberty. Miles Morales in the upcoming animated feature film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is no different, and in a new clip released by Sony, we see him struggle with the onset.

Shameik Moore voices Miles in the film, and he recently spoke to ComicBook.com about the role:

“I would introduce Miles as the Brooklyn Spider-Man. I would say there’s a camaraderie between Peter and Miles in this movie that’s a little different. He finds himself and he’s learning how to be Spider-Man. I mean every Spider-Man has to learn how to be Spider-Man, but he’s lucky. He has Peter, but it’s a little different than we expected. Miles is a special kid. ‘With great power comes great responsibility’ means something a little different with Miles. It’s the same phrase, but this is really forced upon him.”

The Spider-Verse film is an important one, Sony is already making plans for what happens after. There will be a sequel, and, an all-female spinoff film (possibly titled Spider-Women) featuring (we’re assuming) characters introduced in this first flick. There is of course also the possibility of new Spider-People making their way to any additional motion pictures.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is already getting some of the best critical chatter of a superhero film this year (other than Black Panther), which is saying something.

The animated feature is set to swing into theaters on Decemeber 14th 2018.
