Hopefully this will NOT mean Fox’s surprise hit Gotham will suffer the same fate as the previous show Morena Baccarin was a part of on the network.  *cough* Firefly *cough*

But for whatever reason, Fox has already greenlit a full second season of the dark series based on the very early days of young Bruce Wayne following the murder of his parents.  The show has been built around one of the best collections of villains in any comic book world around, Batman’s Rogues Gallery, and we know season two will contain such notable badies as Harvey Dent (Two Face) and possibly Victor Fries (Mr. Freeze).

Thank goodness there’ll be a doctor in the house, too.  Morena Baccarin will be donning the jacket of one Dr. Leslie Thompkins, one of the few trusted allies to know of Batman’s true identity.  She was a friend of Bruce’s parents, and steps in to help Alfred care for the young man after Martha and Thomas’s murder.  She has also been sort of kind of romantically linked to Alfred on more than one occasion, so maybe we’ll see them go that route.  The character has been around since 1976, for all you “She’s not REALLY a Batman comics character” complainers.
