Fox’s Gotham Gets Bruce and Selena

Touch actor David Mazouz will take on the role of a preteen Bruce Wayne (ahem, not Batman) in Fox’s highly anticipated Commissioner Gordon origin series, while acting newcomer Camren Bicondova has been cast as the teenage Selina Kyle. Their casting completes Gotham’s series regular roles.

Gotham’s Bruce Wayne isn’t a playboy-by-day, vigilante-by-night, but a preteen who has been sentenced to a solitary life after his parents’ tragic murders. The serious and soulful Bruce will rely on the guidance and protection of the loyal Alfred Pennyworth (Sean Pertwee) and James Gordon (McKenzie).

Kyle, meanwhile, is a teen orphan who is suspicious and wholly unpredictable. A skilled pickpocket and street thief, Selina is pretty dangerous when cornered. Some viewers may recognize Bicondova from her stint on MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew as a member of the dance group 8 Flavahz, who came in second place in the seventh season.

Based upon the well-known characters from the DC Comics, Gotham, which comes from The Mentalist‘s Bruno Heller, explores the origin stories of Commissioner Gordon (McKenzie) and the villains that helped make the city famous.

Previous stories on casting can be found here, here, and here.  Gotham from Fox is set to premiere sometime  between September 2014-August 2015 of the prime-time schedule.
