Two Florida women, aged 34 and 44, impersonated grandmothers with glasses and bonnets in order to receive Covid-19 vaccines. They were successful, too, as the pair were able to get their first round of shots.
The problem arose when they returned for the second shot, also wearing their disguises. This time the costumes didn’t fool the attending staff, who immediately called shenanigans.
Orange Country Florida health administrator Dr. Raul Pino said the two women showed up as grannies again attempting to get their second shots.
While they DID have valid vaccination cards from the previous visit, the two were turned away from getting the second dose. Florida, like many states in the Union, is currently only offering the vaccine to residents 65 and older.
No charges have been filed.
