    Director Bassam Tariq Exits Marvel Studios’ “Blade” Reboot

    Bassam Tariq, who was set to direct Marvel Studios’ upcoming “Blade” reboot, has exited the project.

    The film was announced back in 2019, with Oscar winner Mahershala Ali taking over the role.

    In a statement, Marvel Studios indicated Tarqiq’s leaving the film is due to scheduling.

    “Due to continued shifts in our production schedule, Bassam is no longer moving forward as director of Blade but will remain an executive producer on the film. We appreciate Bassam’s talent and all the work he’s done getting ‘Blade’ to where it is.”
