Listen To Danny Elfman’s “Justice League” Hero’s Theme

Watertower Music, the official record label of Warner Brothers, just released a title track from the upcoming Justice League movie score titled “Hero’s Theme”.

Composer Danny Elfman was brought on board to score Justice League, replacing JunkieXL who along with Hans Zimmer did Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. Elfman is no stranger to DC Comics character scores, having done Tim Burton‘s Batman films, creating the second most iconic superhero theme.  Because obviously the first is John Williams‘ Superman theme.

Elfman’s “Hero’s Theme” is the first glimpse into the aural tonality of the upcoming Zack Snyder/Joss Whedon directed film, and you can listen to it here:

It’s already getting a lot of discussion brewing on the twitterverse; lifelong Elfman fans saying everything from “it’s a musical departure” to “how perfectly Danny”.

Justice League has had some problems this year, most notably the departure of Snyder as director following a family tragedy.  Joss Whedon stepped in to finish up the picture.  There was some confusion as to whom would get the official “directed by” titlecard credit, but ultimately Snyder got that honor.

The film is reported as clocking in at 1 hour 59 minutes, which is a far cry from the early reports of somewhere closer to the 3 hour mark.

Expect this and more to spark several online debates before Justice League hits theaters on November 17th, 2017.
