Cameras are Rolling on Disney+’s “Star Wars: Ahsoka” Series!

We’re two weeks out from Star Wars Celebration, the convention that focuses solely on the galaxy far, far away. We’re expecting LOTS of news, including announcements about plans for future films, tv series, and more. One of the projects we already know is in the works is live-action Disney+ series “Ahsoka.”

Starring Rosario Dawson as Jedi Master Ahsoka Tano, the series will be written by Dave Filoni, with Dawson. Filoni and Jon Favreau will executive produce, along with Kathleen Kennedy.

Other notable “Star Wars” characters making their way to the live-action series include Sabine Wren, who will be played by Natasha Liu Bordizzo. Hayden Christensen will return as Darth Vader. Lars Mikkelsen may possibly be playing Grand Admiral Thrawn, who he voiced in the animated series. Mena Massoud, who has been rumored to play Ezra Bridger, is also reportedly on cast.

We know that Mary Elizabeth Winstead (who recently married Obi Wan Kenobi Ewan McGregor himself!) will also star in the series. We’re still not sure who she’s playing, but we hope for confirmations soon. Ivanna Sakhno is also on cast, but there aren’t any details about her character yet, either.

As of this morning, cameras are rolling!

Obviously, this probably means some kind of footage or teaser for Celebration is unlikely. Not impossible, but probably not happening.
