Ayo Edebiri, one of the breakout stars from FX’s hit series “The Bear,” has dropped out of Marvel Studios’ upcoming film “Thunderbolts.” The Emmy-winning actress has reportedly departed the project. Reports indicate Geraldine Viswanathan (“Blockers“) is taking over the mysterious role.
While we didn’t know who Edebiri was going to play, we did know the already-announced cast of Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Sebastian Stan as Winter Soldier, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, Wyatt Russell as US Agent, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster, and Harrison Ford as General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross.
We also know that Emmy winner Steven Yeun (“Beef“), who dropped out of the project due to scheduling issues, will reportedly be replaced by Lewis Pullman (“Top Gun: Maverick“) as Sentry.
“Thunderbolts” currently has a set release date of July 26th, 2024.
