Anthony Russo Says Hawkeye “Stayed Clear” Of ‘Avengers: Infinity War’

Perhaps you’re still trying to secure your theater tickets for Avengers: Endgame after this morning’s record-breaking pre sale for the upcoming Marvel Studios release, so why not read some choice answers from co-director Anthony Russo?

Our friends over at Fandango (somehow terribly appropriate today), namely Erik Davis, spoke with one half of the Russo Brothers team about the next chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And, one of the more interesting reveals- where the hell was Hawkeye during Avengers: Infinity War?

In the new “special look” trailer released by Marvel to announce ticket sales, we get our best look at a very different Hawkeye, complete with that new haircut AND a pretty sweet tattoo.

Anthony Russo Says Hawkeye "Stayed Clear" Of 'Avengers: Infinity War'

Anthony Russo: I can’t go into the story about it, but certainly Hawkeye stayed clear of the events of Infinity War. Because of the ending of Civil War, Hawkeye chose to keep himself out of the conflict and stay with his family. That’s why he didn’t have a role in Infinity War on a narrative level, but Thanos certainly came calling to everybody by the end of Infinity War. And so, that’s why he is now involved in that and in Endgame moving forward.

Guess we’ll know just how much Thanos’s snap effected Clint Barton when Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26th 2019.
