We’re Getting “the Full Run” of Carol’s Powers in ‘Captain Marvel’

We’ve known for some time that Captain Marvel was going to be a force to be reckoned with in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After all, Kevin Feige famously said Captain Carol Danvers is going to be the “most powerful superhero we’ve ever introduced” early last year.

Executive Producer Jonathan Schwartz is taking that claim further, teasing to ComicBook.com (during their set visit) just how many of Carol’s powers we’re going to be getting in Captain Marvel:

“By the end of this movie we’ll have seen the full run of power’s out of Carol. So that’s flight and strength and photon blasts. You know I think part of what made us excited about the character was that she was such a powerful character in the comic books and one of the most if not the most powerful character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and seeing all that brought to bear is one of the big pleasures of the movie.”

But will we be getting the full-on Binary Carol?

“Yes. For sure. And also one of the things we love from the comics was that mohawk look that pops up in that run a little bit.”

Anna Boden (first female director for Marvel Studios, only took 21 films) and Ryan Fleck are directing from a script they wrote with Liz Flahive, Carly Mensch, Meg LeFauve, Nicole Perlman, and Geneva Robertson-Dworet (who happens to be working on the script for Andy Weir‘s second novel, “Artemis”).

Captain Marvel stars Oscar winner Brie Larson as Captain Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Jude Law as the commander of Starforce (who may or may not have two names), Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson, Lee Pace returning as Ronan the Accuser, Djimon Hounsou as Korath the Pursuer, Gemma Chan as Minn-Erva, Ben Mendelsohn as Skull Commander Talos, Lashana Lynch as Maria Rambeau, Algenis Perez Soto, McKenna Grace, and Annette Bening in as-yet-undisclosed role.

Captain Marvel lands in theaters on March 8th.
