Directors Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, and Rodney Rothman just dished some possible details about the in-the-works sequel to Sony’s animated feature film, and surprise hit, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

'Spider-Verse' Sequel Takes Place "2 Years Later", Directors Tease

While speaking with Variety on the red carpet at the 2019 Critics Choice Awards, Rothman just teased a possible time-jump of about 2 years from the action in Spider-Man to the sequel:

“Basically, we’re going to cut to two years later–”

But you can see Ramsey in the background motioning “cut”, while Persichetti bows his head and laughs.

As to if the sequel is currently being developed, both Rothman and Persichetti confirm that yes, it’s being worked on.

Needless to say, we’re certainly looking forward to seeing what comes next for the Spider-Verse.
