We assume by now you’ve seen the official teaser for Marvel Studios’ FINALLY TITLED Avengers: Endgame. If you haven’t, you can see that here, because this post will make absolutely no sense to you until you have.

NASA Gives Marvel Studios Advice on Rescuing Tony Stark

In the teaser, we see Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) alone in space, theoretically soon after the events of Avengers: Infinity War. He’s recording a message to Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow), describing his time and lack of food. [Also, you know, the mention of the word “rescue”, which maybe means yes, we’ll finally get R.E.S.C.U.E. in action.]

Soon after the teaser’s release, NASA’s social media was bombarded by pleas from Marvel fans to “SAVE IRON MAN!”, prompting a response, finally:

Hey @Marvel, we heard about Tony Stark. As we know, the first thing you should do is listen in mission control for “@Avengers, we have a problem.” But if he can’t communicate, then we recommend ground teams use all resources to scan the skies for your missing man

We’ll have to wait til next year to find out if The Russo Brothers had a similar idea when Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26th, 2019.
