Here’s Gail Simone’s Pitch for a Willy Wonka Movie

Sometimes Twitter is a wonderful place, thanks to personalities like Gail Simone.

Today, the comic book writer took to her characters to describe her pitch for a film: The Oz/Wonka war.

Okay, here’s my idea.

THE OZ/WONKA WAR.

Slugworth allies with the Wicked Witch of the West to capture Dorothy and Charlie.

The Oompa-Loompa and Munchin armies are forced to face flying monkeys armed with inferior chocolate.

Wonka and the Wizard must find a new child to save both empires.

And we find out that Grampa Joe is the Wizard’s brother, they used to tour together in a travelling medicine show.

Augustus Gloop and the Cowardly Lion are the generals fighting the living tree invasion.

But then, someone warned Gail that perhaps we’d see Johnny Depp return to the character:

Stop it, you’ll give Disney ideas and we’ll have to see another overstuffed CG nightmare starring Johnny Depp.
