The CW Orders “Supernatural” Spinoff, Jared Padalecki Responds

Yesterday, The CW surprised everyone by ordering a spinoff series of their hugely popular series “Supernatural,” which ended it’s 15 season run in November of 2020. Following the….well, supernatural adventures of the Winchester family, the series stared Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Mischa Collins, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and an incredible cast of guest stars.

By all reports, the spinoff series will be told from the point of view of Ackles’ character, Dean Winchester. Fans of course were excited by this, but one notable person was…not.

Padalecki responded to the news via Twitter, and his disappointment was pretty palpable.

    Dude. Happy for you.
Wish I heard about this some way other than Twitter.
I’m excited to watch, but bummed that Sam Winchester had no involvement whatsoever. https://t.co/bAcEvFKM7p

    No.
    It’s not.
This is the first I’ve heard about it.
    I’m gutted. https://t.co/1i8eC8YAdV

    Yeah, so….

We’ll let you know what else we hear about it.

    UPDATE-

Looks like a conversation was had, and things are better.

@JensenAckles and I had a great talk, as we do often, and things are good.
The show is early in the process with miles to go.
We’ve travelled a lot of roads together, and sometimes those damn roads have bumps.
    Bumps don’t stop us.
    Once brothers, always brothers. #spnfamily
