Everyone has their favorite Star Trek captain, which can be a deeply personal choice for many. While maybe she’s not your personal favorite, Captain Katherine Janeway was something special for scores of Trek fans, and actress Kate Mulgrew just said she’d be willing to return to the role.

The subject came up during this weekends’ Destination Star Trek Birmingham in the UK, specifically about whether or not the decorated stage actress would ever return to the Trek fold as her Starfleet captain character.

What Kate Mulgrew Said About Captain Janeway Returning to Star Trek

Her answer was interesting, saying she would “love to do” a film with fellow former captains William Shatner and Sir Patrick Stewart.

This is interesting considering the announcement from Star Trek Las Vegas (STLV) in July, that CBS was creating a new series that would see the return of Stewart’s Captain Jean Luc Picard to television.

The official Star Trek twitter account live-tweeted the Q & A session with Mulgrew from the Birmingham event, you can catch up on some of her answers to questions, like whether or not she actually likes coffee as much as Captain Janeway does:

“Shatner, Stewart and myself in some sort of movie – I’d love to do that. So the answer is yes (to putting her space suit back on)”-@TheKateMulgrew (cc: @WilliamShatner @SirPatStew) #DST #StarTrek

“I think that with Janeway, they broke the mold – Janeway embodied goodness as well as boldness, passion as well as intelligence. Her directive was the prime directive. Her compass was her moral compass” @TheKateMulgrew #DST #StarTrek

“You’re frantic because I’m a woman. You’re frantic because you think I’m going to fail ….I said Let them come to me” @TheKateMulgrew on what she told @berman_rick when they kept adjusting her hair, boots, etc #StarTrek #DST
