    W. Earl Brown as Dan Dority

Today, W. Earl Brown, who played Al Swearengen’s (Ian McShane) right-hand man Dan Dority at the Gem Saloon on the series, posted this cryptic yet exciting photo to his various social media accounts:

“#DeadwoodReturns” is the only caption on it, and that’s sort of all we need at this point.

HBO officially greenlit the long-gestating project back in July, after an on-off again production including numerous script updates and cast involvement rumors.

We also know that just last month, according to Brown, he went to a wardrobe fitting, so theoretically that means things are moving along at a nice clip.

We will of course let you know when we find out anything else about the project- casting, release date, etc. – until then, why not relive the series on Blu-ray[easyazon_link identifier=”B00G575PM0″ locale=”US” tag=”bleedingcoo07-20″]Deadwood: The Complete Series (BD) [Blu-ray][/easyazon_link].
