“The West Wing” is one of those shows that makes you long for the ideal. In this case, a President who is intelligent, surrounds himself with intelligent people, and is written by one of the greatest wordsmiths of shows in this day and age.

NBC series “The West Wing” was great. It still IS great, and holds up right now to the rigors of reviewership (totally a word) and review of an audience 21 years later. It is in a sense, a dream of a White House we should be able to have.

That’s not to say it didn’t have it’s issues, because it did, but we won’t go into everything here. This piece is to inform you that Richard Schiff, who played communications director (and later press secretary) Toby Ziegler has been working on a reunion with the cast to support Black Lives Matter.

This came to the public’s attention when Schiff, who has always been highly political and outspoken, engaged with Twitter followers about his participation in various Black Lives Matter support protests across Los Angeles. He was questioned about whether or not the current series he’s on “The Good Doctor” supported his actions, and where the series stood on their support of the righteous movement.

Schiff responded, that he could not speak for that production, but was indeed working on a reunion of some kind (no details yet) with his fellow “The West Wing” alum.

I am working with my cast mates from The West Wing for these purposes. Including a cast reunion and reading coming soon. Good for Brooklyn 99. I hope it makes a difference. https://t.co/acA0n5LenU

We’ll be the first in line for it. You hear that Aaron Sorkin? Put Dulé Hill front and center with Martin Sheen, and you’ve got yourself a date.

We here at Nerdbot support the Black community in the fight against systematic racism and injustice. We see you, we hear you, and we stand with you.
