Hot on the heels of that big Batwoman news earlier this week, it would appear another notable female hero is heading to her very own live-action series from Greg Berlanti: Stargirl.

The news broke during San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC), as will most things this week [we kid, we kid, but not really].

Geoff Johns will write and exec produce the scripted original series via his Mad Ghost Productions banner. Greg Berlanti’s studio-based Berlanti Productions is handling the production side of things.

Reportedly the series will follows high school sophomore Courtney Whitmore, who inspires an unlikely group of young heroes to stop the villains of the past. In this version of the character, she’ll be the first member of Justice Society of America.

There was not news of casting yet, but theoretically that’ll happen soon too.

Stargirl is expected to hit sometime in 2019.
