For whatever reason, NBC’s new streaming service Peacock is currently developing a competition series based on the classic Konami video game, Frogger. This announcement shouldn’t come as a surprise in a world that contains a live-action “Battleship” film, a “Tetris” movie, and a proposed Rubix Cube universe.

Featuring 12 obstacle courses (or “crossings”), “Frogger” contestants will dodge traffic, leap over snapping gators, and hop over hungry hippos to conquer the course and win a cash prize.

Chris Culvenor and Paul Franklin are executive producing for Eureka Productions, who are in turn working in partnership with Konami Cross Media NY.

Peacock has already ordered 13 episodes.

We’ll let you know what we hear about a possible release date.
