This just in, yet another big name has been added to the upcoming “Borderlands” live-action movie! Well-rounded nerd Jack Black will be lending his voice to Claptrap!

Director Eli Roth, who is helming this film, said: “I am so excited to reunite with Jack, this time in the recording booth. Claptrap is the funniest character in the game, and Jack is perfect to bring him to the big screen.”

President of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group Nathan Kahane agreed that adding Black as the sarcastic robot was “one of the biggest no-brainer casting decisions we’ve ever made.”

Black joins Jamie Lee Curtis (who will be playing Dr. Tannis), Kevin Hart as “Borderlands 2” character Roland (described as a skilled ex-soldier turned mercenary), and Cate Blanchett as Lilith.

“Chernobyl” scribe Craig Mazin wrote the most recent “Borderlands” script for the Lionsgate release, and that’s about all we know at this point.
