That upcoming live-action “Borderlands” feature film based on the Gearbox, Telltale video game series, just added another name to the cast. Just announced this morning, Kevin Hart will be joining Cate Blanchett in the flick, which will be directed by Eli Roth.

    Kevin Hart, Netflix

Hart will be playing “Borderlands 2” character Roland,  described as a skilled ex-soldier turned mercenary.

“I’m thrilled to be working with Kevin,” Roth said of the news. “‘Borderlands’ is a different kind of role for him, and we are excited to thrill audiences with a side of Kevin they’ve never seen before. He’s going to be an amazing Roland.”

We know that Blanchett will be playing Lilith, one of the main characters from the multi-titled game series.

“Chernobyl” scribe Craig Mazin wrote the most recent “Borderlands” script for the Lionsgate release, and that’s about all we know at this point.

I’m excited about Kevin becoming a Borderlands badass. To the outside world that is quick to typecast, this move may be seen as risky. While I am not afraid of risk, Kevin’s exceptional talent and commitment to and understanding of story and character does not feel risky to me. https://t.co/DQ5ethXgjv
