Netflix original drama series The Crown is more than likely planning a time jump for their third season.  This isn’t just a theory I’m putting out there because it sounds cool, but because of a casting announcement that just happened. Variety just announced that Helena Bonham Carter has been brought on board for the third season of the series to play Princess Margaret. If you know the show (but really you should, it’s fabulous) you’re aware that HRH Princess Margaret has been played by Vanessa Kirby.

This news comes after Netflix announced that Olivia Colman (Broadchurch, The Night Manager) would be replacing series lead Claire Foy as Queen Elizabeth II for season 3.

No word yet on who will be replacing Matt Smith as the Duke of Edinburgh Prince Philip.

Season 2 of the series is currently streaming on Netflix.
