There’s a Petition to Save Taco Bell’s Mexican Pizza

We’re all for launching petitions to save things- shows, films, statues, etc. But a food item at a big-time fast food restaurant chain? Really? Perhaps you’ll recall earlier this fall when Taco Bell announced that certain beloved favorites were going to be leaving their menu forever.

In August, Taco Bell removed Grilled Steak Soft Taco, 7-Layer Burrito, Quesarito, Nachos Supreme, Beefy Fritos Burrito, Spicy Tostada, Triple Layer Nachos, Spicy Potato Soft Taco, Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes, Loaded Grillers, Chips & Dips and the Mini Skillet Bowl from their menus. Outrage ensued.

BUT THEN they went too far for some patrons, announcing that come November 2020, the Mexican pizza and items with shredded chicken (including the Shredded Chicken Soft Taco, Shredded Chicken Burrito and Shredded Chicken Quesadilla Melt) will no longer be available or offered.

    That’s a lot of changes.

Because of this, a group of food fanatics have launched a Change.org petition to reinstate, of all things, the Mexican Pizza:

Taco Bell plans to discontinue the Mexican Pizza by Q4 2020.

This is an item loved by many, especially the South Asian community.

Losing this item would not only be the loss of one of our favorite foods but a piece of our childhood & heritage as Indian Americans.

Please band together, show support, and save the Mexican Pizza.

So, sign if you want, we guess.

At the time of this publication, the petition has around 92k signatures.
