It was announced earlier this year (way back in May) that Netflix was going to be doing their own adaptation of “The Witcher”.

Variety says that Lauren Schmidt Hissrich has been named as showrunner and writer for Netflix’s series.  No stranger to working with the stream service studio, her previous credits include The Defenders and Daredevil, as well as and co-executive producer credits.

Andrzej Sapkowsk’s first novel in The Witcher saga, “The Last Wish”

Originally published in Polish sci-fi magazine ‘Fantastyka’ in the mid ’80s, the saga has since become an 8 book series by author Andrzej Sapkowski. Maybe you’re more familiar with the video game franchise, or the comics, tabletop games, or maybe even the Polish tv series The Hexer from 2003.

Nothing much is known about the plot or characters we’ll see in a Netflix The Witcher series, but hopefully we’ll be getting some information soon.

What Witcher character would you like to see in a show?  Any ideas on casting?
