We are so heartbroken to share the news that legendary rock n’ roll guitar god Eddie Van Halen has lost his battle with throat cancer, and passed away.

TMZ broke the news, and their track record has been extremely on the money with reports of this nature.

Wolfgang Van Halen, son of Eddie and actress Valerie Bertinelli, posted about the news on his personal Twitter account as well.

Eddie of course co-founded Van Halen, and has remained one of the icons of the guitar world for many, many years.

    He was 65.

Our thoughts go out to his family at this time.
