Ubisoft’s Skull And Bones Trailer From E3 Is Piratically Awesome

Arguably one of the best Assassin’s Creed titles to date, Ubisoft’s Black Flag brought players into the golden age of Piracy.  Beautiful in its rendering, seriously some of the most gorgeous in game cutscenes and ocean waves, the desire for a full game of JUST the pirate side of things became obvious. Today during E3, Ubisoft released the GORGEOUS cinematic trailer for their upcoming Piratical title, Skull and Bones:

Clearly someone was listening to the interest of the fans of Black Flag, and the lush buccaneer world is returning for this new (nothing to do with Assassin’s Creed) game.  But also that freaking kraken.

The game is set in 1721, and has a multiplayer-focused side that Ubisoft says it will constantly update and refresh with new content as it does for its other “live service” games. Players will be able to build fleets, customize ships, and plunder treasure from trading ships and other pirates.  What’s not to love?!

Looks like the sailing gets a little tougher too, having to factor for things like wind and canon angles during battle!  Hopefully, the cinematic trailer’s use a lady at the helm means the option for more than just your cut of the mill pirate captain with a beard and such.  Not to say a lady captain can’t have a beard, but you get the idea.

Skull and Bones launches in 2018 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. You can (like I did) sign up for the beta launch via Ubisoft’s website.
