Kodansha Comics gave Emerald City Comicon attendees an exclusive look at their new, definitive guide book to all things Ghost in the Shell, Ghost in the Shell README: 1995-2017. Ben Applegate, Associate Director of Publishing Services for Penguin said that the book will be “the definitive guide to the anime adaptations of Ghost in the Shell, unlike anything before that’s ever come out in English.”

The guide book will feature “a ton of full-color art, interviews, stories from behind the scenes, from all of these brilliant anime adaptations,” said Applegate.

The guide book will cover everything from the original 1995 Ghost in the Shell anime to the new live-action film starring Scarlett Johansson, set to be released on March 31st. The README itself will be available in September.

An exclusive Ghost in the Shell poster drawn by artist Becky Cloonan was also announced. The poster marks Kodansha Comics’ collaboration with Mondo, the famous movie and film poster company based in Austin, Texas. The poster will be available to buy on March 14, as part of a free promotional film screening of Ghost in the Shell at the Long Center of the Performing Arts in Austin. At that point the poster will also be available to buy from Mondo’s website.
