After the highly unlikely success of the most recent Marvel film Ant-Man, the Disney owned studio giant is moving forward with a sequel, and in turn having to shuffle around previously announced films.

Ant-Man And The Wasp will be the title, and we’ll have Paul Rudd as Scott Lang and Evangeline Lilly as Hope van Dyne both returning to their roles Marvel said in a release this morning. The film is set for a July 6th, 2018 release.

While this news is great, ESPECIALLY for a real use of The Wasp in the MCU, this means the much anticipated first female led solo film will be pushed back.   This means Captain Marvel has been moved from November 2nd, 2018 to March 8th, 2019.

This ALSO means Black Panther has been moved, originally slated for a November 2nd, 2018 date to February 16th, 2018.

Additionally, three untitled projects were announced, with release dates of May 1, 2020, July 10, 2020 and November 6, 2020 respectively.  The other films for Marvel’s Phase Three that we know about (who haven’t been affected by these new date changes) include Captain America: Civil War on May 6, 2016, Doctor Strange on November 4, 2016, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 on May 5, 2017, their Untitled Spider-Man Film on July 28, 2017, Thor: Ragnarok on November 3, 2017, Avengers: Infinity War Part I on May 4, 2018, Avengers: Infinity War Part II May 3, 2019, and Inhumans on July 12, 2019.
