It is difficult to pretend I’m not excited for the upcoming return to the Harry Potter film universe.  I mean, who didn’t want a copy of the fanged “Fantastic Beasts And Where to Find Them”?

We know that Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne has been cast by Universal to play legendary magizoologist Newt Scamander, which on it’s own is really exciting.  But with this new film, we have confirmation that there is indeed an American Wizarding School!

Katherine Waterston (Boardwalk Empire, Inherent Vice) has been cast to play opposite Redmayne, as an American witch named Porpentina.  She meets Scamander when he stops in New York City on his travels to find and document magical creatures.

“Potter” author J.K. Rowling is making her feature screenwriting debut on the project which is being directed by David Yates who helmed the last four Harry Potter films.

Fantastic Beasts hits theaters worldwide on November 18th, 2016.
