The Psycho prequel tv series from A & E was just renewed for two more seasons, meaning even more weird mother/son relationships from Bates Motel.

The show centers on Norma Bates (Vera Farmiga) and her son, Norman (Freddie Highmore), as they murder and connive their way into local celebrity.  The series has been pulling pretty admirable viewership numbers, fans have done their part to keep the show alive.

Apparently embracing the dark tones of what audiences like, the network has also just picked up an offshoot of horror classic The Omen, spinoff series Damien.  The Returned however, another dark A & E title, isn’t so lucky, getting the axe after just 10 episodes.

“The vision of our incredible creative team has exposed the steady breakdown of the relationship between Norman and Norma Bates,” said A&E & Lifetime EVP and GM Rob Sharenow. “We are thrilled to bring fans two more seasons to witness the next stages of Norman’s transformation into the most notorious psychopath in cinematic history.”
