“Indiana Jones”: Disney Wants Chris Pratt For The Role

There are very few instances when I’m happy about a reboot.  Battlestar Galactica, Planet of The Apes (the most recent ones), and X-Men: First Class being the only titles I can think of that worked (for me).

It was announced today that Disney is serious about moving forward with a new Indiana Jones franchise.  Having been rumored since that disaster Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull, we were widely expecting Shia to take up the hat and whip. It doesn’t seem like that will happen, so of course, Disney had to change their casting vision…..to Star Lord.

So the current front runner is Chris Pratt, which I am TOTALLY on board with.  I’ve been a fan of his for a long time, and loved his work on Guardians Of The Galaxy.  Let’s remember the previous actor being considered was Twilight’s‘s Robert Pattinson.  I’m really excited to see how he does with Jurassic World, the trailers only giving us a tiny glimpse of what we can expect.  But Pratt as Henry Jones Junior?  Perfect!

If you’ve ever watched any of the Young Indiana Jones series, I highly suggest it.  Starring Boondock Saints Sean Patrick Flanery, you get a really good impression of the formative years of Dr. Jones ala the opening scenes of Last Crusade.

This is not set in stone yet, but I would not mind if it were.  We’ll let you know as information becomes available.
