Goyer & She-Hulk, Stan Lee Comments

So yesterday, we ran a story that touched on the GREAT GOYER DEBATE OF 2014, as to whether or not Writer/Director/Producer David S. Goyer is a bigoted jerk for something he said on a podcast.  (I say again, do yourself a favor and before formulating your own opinion on the subject, LISTEN to the full podcast to understand the context and tone)

And today, the Generalissimo himself Stan Lee has commented on Goyer’s quotes, stating that he “never for an instant wanted her (She-Hulk) as a love interest for The Hulk.”

I personally STILL think the “She Hulk is a porn star” comment is taken too far out of context by fans screaming for Goyer’s blood.  What’s wrong with being a porn star?  NOTHING!  Is that really what She-Hulk is?  Hell no, but in the discussion the quote was said in, it was an accurate description.  Like I said in the previous piece, go buy some Shulkie anthologies, and make your own decisions.   All this press is just icing on the cake for Goyer’s next project, NBC’s Constantine.

    UPDATE:

Now we have commentary from one of the hosts of the podcast:

“Bottom line: I wasn’t saying that I think she’s a slut. I was saying I think the people who created her were at one time pushing a visual image of Hulk as Slut in order to make money. And I don’t like that. My comment was entirely about the illustration of a fictional character. It was not a reflection of my opinion of the mind or actions of the character.”

Full quote to be found here.
