Ridley Scott Working on “Gladiator III” for Some Reason

Ridley Scott is one of those iconic filmmakers who has a slew of entries lauded as the pinnacles of the art form. “Alien?” Groundbreaking. Genre defining. Still pointed to as the standard for such fare. “Blade Runner?” Probably one of the greatest films ever made. “Gladiator?” C’mon!

Scott is also someone who will, at times, revisit his projects and continue their stories. Which is what brings us to the recent interview The Guardian did with the 87 year old director.

When asked if Scott would be making a third “Alien” prequel film to follow up “Prometheus” and “Covenant,” and a third “Gladiator” film, his answer was surprising.

“‘Gladiator‘ is in process right now. Another ‘Alien‘ prequel – yeah, if I get an idea, for sure,” Scott answered.

Considering “Gladiator II” didn’t do as well as expected at the box office, this really is unexpected. But, as he’s never one to turn away from passion projects, we’re curious to see what happens.

We’ll let you know what we hear about this and other news.
