    Taika Waititi, Drew Pearce to Tackle “Judge Dredd”

    This just in-

    Taika Waititi (“Thor: Ragnarok,” “Time Bandits“) and Drew Pearce (“The Fall Guy,” “Mission: Impossible- Rogue Nation“) are going to be tackling a new adaptation of Judge Dredd.

    Producers include ,Chris Kingsley, Jason Kingsley and Ben Smith of Rebellion Developments (who currently hold the rights to the character), Roy Lee of Vertigo Entertainment, Jeremy Platt, Natalie Viscuso, and Pearce.

    Supposedly, the project will take it’s inspiration from the comics in a stronger way than the previous live-action adaptions have. No mentions of casting yet. While it’s probably unlikely we’d be seeing most recent Dredd Karl Urban again, it *could* happen due to his ties with Waititi.

    Sad this probably means the long-gestating “Mega-City One” project from Rebellion and Netflix is dead.
