First Looks at Scorpion, Johnny Cage and More from “Mortal Kombat 2”

We are super excited to show you some photos from the upcoming “Mortal Kombat 2” film!! Thanks to Entertainment Weekly for running this feature!

“You finally get to see Johnny Cage,” Ed Boon, head of gaming developer NetherRealm Studios and co-creator of ‘Mortal Komabt’ told EW. “His integration into the ‘Mortal Kombat‘ story and universe is a big part of what this movie explores. He’s a washed-up Hollywood guy thrown into this magical, ultra-violent thing. Karl, his depiction of Johnny Cage is different than our games in some ways. He’s adding his own flare to it, but I think it’ll feel fresh. There’s like a novelty factor in there.”

 Lewis Tan returns as Cole, a descendant of Hanzo Hasashi/Scorpion, played by Emmy winner Hiroyuki Sanada (“Shōgun“). They’ll be joined this time around by Mehcad Brooks as Jax, Jessica McNamee as Sonya Blade, Tadanobu Asano as Lord Raiden, Joe Taslim as Sub-Zero, Adeline Rudolph as Kitana, Martyn Ford as Shao Kahn, and Karl Urban as Johnny Cage

“What I realized was go bigger, go bolder, don’t hold back, and really feed off the history of Mortal Kombat more,” director Simon McQuoid said. “Just let it rip, and that’s what we’ve done.”

“Mortal Kombat 2” hits theaters October 24th 2025.
