    Apple TV+ Renews “Silo” for Season 3, 4 But There’s a Catch-

We enjoy the darker side of futuristic television and film, and Apple TV+’s “Silo” is on that list. Based on Hugh Howey’s bestselling book trilogy and starring Rebecca Ferguson (“Dune,” “Mission: Impossible“), it is the story of the last ten thousand people on Earth, their mile-deep home protecting them from the toxic and deadly world outside. But no one knows when or why the silo was built, and any who try to find out face fatal consequences. Ferguson stars as Juliette, an engineer, who seeks answers about a loved one’s murder and tumbles onto a mystery that goes far deeper than she could have ever imagined, leading her to discover that if the lies don’t kill you, the truth will.

It has been renewed for seasons 3 and 4, but, season 4 will be it’s last. While that’s disappointing, it’s always nice for a show to go into production with an end in mind. For the writers to be able to wrap things up in their own time is always best, but, hopefully they can get it done in two seasons.

“We give great storytellers the chance to breathe and to tell their stories,” Apple President Tim Cook told Empire Magazine. “We want to make content that makes a difference in the world in some kind of way. It moves you to think about something on a deeper level, so it’s both great entertainment and it makes a difference.” Silo, adds Cook, also happens to be one of his favourite shows.

The cast includes Ferguson, Tim Robbins, Common, Steve Zahn, Harriet Walter, Chinaza Uche, Avi Nash, Alexandria Riley, Shane McRae, Remmie Milner, Billy Postlethwaite, Rick Gomez, Clare Perkins, Caitlin Zoz, Tanya Moodie, and Iain Glen (“Game of Thrones“).

Season 1 is currently streaming in its entirety on Apple TV+, with season 2 wrapping up this week. We’ll let you know what we hear about this and other news.
