This is one of the films we are extremely excited for. Anytime Oscar winner Guillermo del Toro makes a movie, we KNOW there’s gonna be some incredible visuals. Toss in his ultimate passion project from a little story by Mary Shelly, and we cannot wait for GdT’s “Frankenstein.“

Vanity Fair just released a handful of first-look images for various upcoming releases, but this stunning photo is what we’re here to talk about.

It’s SOOOOO Bernie Wrightson‘s Frankenstein, which we know GdT has cited time and time again as one of his biggest inspirations.  “Gothic romance was born partially out of the fascination with ruins,” del Toro told Vanity Fair. “Sometimes they’re more beautiful than the building complete because it’s the clash of creation and destruction.”

Back in January, it was revealed  Jacob Elordi (“Saltburn”) had replaced Andrew Garfield (“The Amazing Spider-Man”) as Adam/The Monster, alongside  Oscar Isaac (“Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse”) as Victor Frankenstein. Mia Goth (“Pearl”), Christoph Waltz (“Most Dangerous Game”), Felix Kammerer (“All Quiet on the Western Front”), Lars Mikkelsen (“The Witcher”), David Bradley (“Pinocchio”), and Christian Convery (“Sweet Tooth”) also star.

del Toro is writing, directing, and producing the film for Netflix, alongside J. Miles Dale. The duo previously worked together on “Cabinet of Curiosities,” which was also created for Netflix.

While we don’t have an official release date for “Frankenstein” yet, GdT did confirm via Bluesky the film will have a theatrical run. We’ll let you know what we hear about this and other news.
