    While maybe not as familiar a middle-Earth character as say, Frodo or Legolas, Tom Bombadil is an interesting one. We first meet him in “The Lord of the Rings” novel, when he helps the Hobbits. Rory Kinnear (“Penny Dreadful,” “No Time to Die“) will bring Old Tom to life in season two of “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.”

    Prime Video released four first-look photos via Vanity Fair featuring Kinnear as Bombadil, along with Daniel Weyman as The Stranger.

    Season 1 of the show proved divisive among fans. Some felt it deviated too much from the existing source material of JRR Tolkien‘s world, while others wanted a show more in line with Sir Peter Jackson‘s pair of film trilogies.

    Possibly the most expensive television series ever made, “The Rings of Power” has been planned for at least 5 seasons. Season 2 is set to hit Prime Video August 29th, 2024. Check out the tease video below:
