    This just in-

it appears Prime Video has passed on the Spider-Man adjacent series, “Silk: Spider Society.” This doesn’t mean it’s DEAD, as some sources indicate it’s currently being shopped around to other homes.

The project was first floated back in 2018 as an animated series, then a film, then back to a series from “The Walking Dead” showrunner Angela Kang. In 2022, Amazon committed to developing the series.

“Amy Pascal, Phil Lord, Chris Miller and Sony’s recent live-action and animated reimagining of the Spider-Man franchise has represented some of the most dynamic superhero storytelling in film,” head of Amazon Studios Jennifer Salke said of the news. “Together with Angela Kang’s creative vision, we couldn’t be more pleased to bring Silk: Spider Society to our MGM+ and Prime Video customers.”

“I’m beyond thrilled to be joining the Amazon Studios family for this next chapter of my career,” Kang said in 2022. “I look forward to working with the executive team on diverse, character-forward, watercooler shows for a global audience and am so excited to dive in to my first challenge — bringing Korean-American superhero Silk to life on screen.”

Considering the news of a live-action “Spider-Noir” series starring Nicolas Cage, we do find this news a little strange.

We’ll let you know what we hear about this and other projects.
