Cameras Are Rolling on “This Is Spinal Tap 2”

“LIVE, DIRECT FROM HELL, SPINAL TAP!”

We seriously cannot impart to you how exciting today’s news is. At long last, cameras are rolling on a much anticipated sequel. We’re talking 1984’s comedy rockumentary classic, “This Is Spinal Tap.” In 2020, Britain’s loudest band reunited to raise money for the Democratic Party of Pennsylvania. Shortly thereafter, rumors started swirling of a possible new album, and/or maybe, MAYBE, a larger reunion.

Cut to May of 2022, and news directly from Rob Reiner himself of an actual sequel! News came sporiadicly after that, including a filming start date sometime in February. Well, the shortest month has come and gone, and we’re already well into March. But word from New Orleans this morning is favorable, as cameras are officially rolling on “This is Spinal Tap 2.”

“I recently spoke to Marty DiBergi who said that he was more than happy to take a sabbatical from his position as a visiting Professor’s Assistant at the Ed Wood School of Cinematic Arts to once again document Spinal Tap to ensure their place in the pantheon of Rock and Roll,” Reiner said.

The original band lineup of Nigel Tufnel (Christopher Guest), David St. Hubbins (Michael McKean), and Derrick Smalls (Harry Shearer) will lead the cast, with confirmed cameos from Paul McCartney, Questlove, Elton John, Garth Brooks, and Trisha Yearwood. No word on who will play drums. We’re assuming there will be other guest stars, too, but that’s it for now.

In any case, we cannot wait for this movie. We’re gonna go hum “Tonight I’m Gonna Rock You, Tonight” for the rest of the day.
